VW Festival – Harewood House – August 2022
It had been 3 years since the last VW Festival at Harewood House near Leeds. Covid restrictions meant that the 2020 and 2021 shows couldn’t go ahead, so we were looking forward to a weekend in the grounds of the Harewood Estate.
VW Festival always brings out an awesome selection of cars, and this year was no exception. Our club stall was positioned on the row right at the front, so we had a great view of all of the show cars as well as the house. A great place to be.
Not Just a Car Show
Another great thing about this show is that you can go and have a look around the gardens, where there were lots of different birds, I’m pretty sure I spotted Hedwig from Harry Potter too, he must have been on his holidays.
We had borrowed a T-Roc Cabriolet from VW’s Press Office, what a great car. I had the privilege of driving the car up to Leeds from Sheffield and it did not disappoint. Lots of stares on the way too with its beautiful blue paintwork it was a great car for the weekend.
We Were Melting
Now I love the sun, but this was the hottest show that we have done ever. Even in the shade, we were melting. Luckily, we had packed some ice lollies and the slushie stall and ice cream vans were close by.
As we were trading all weekend, we didn’t get too much of an opportunity for a wander around. However, I did manage to fit in a walk around the gardens and watch the guys on their BMXs doing their tricks.
Lots of fun was had at a really good, professional show. Thank you VW Festival!
