Chassis / VIN Numbers….

Until 31st December 1955 Chassis (VIN) Numbers were six digit (and a few at the end of the period seven digits) prefixed with 1 -, that is the digit 1 and a dash. i.e. 1-063 289

1st January 1956 to 31st July 1964 The 1- was dropped and vehicles numbered sequentially.
